About Me
Lovingly Sponsored by:
Meet seven-year-old Rosabella! She was found on the streets of Mexico and we were more than happy to make her part of our rescue and find the perfect and loving home for her.
She’s so very sweet, loving, affectionate, extremely smart and gentle natured. She’s not a nervous girl but isn’t very fond of the vacuum or hose at her foster’s home. She will go running when she sees the hose but will tolerate baths with encouragement and praise as she is a dog that is willing to please.
She’s not a very active pup or playful at this time and has low energy. She has no interest in toys or balls currently and seems to have no clue what they are or what to do with them. She has shown no aggression while in foster care. She is very loyal, loves her humans and is a very passive pup. She’s very social with people if they come to her and is a Velcro dog, for sure! She’s extremely gentle and one of her favorite things is to be pet and she will beg for attention.
She has chased a cat out of her back yard but has seen them on walks and if the cat doesn’t back down, Rosabella will back down herself and doesn’t pursue. She seems indifferent to other dogs and would do fine as an only dog and perhaps would do fine with another dog, but they would need to be very low energy and calm. She is currently the only dog in her foster home.
She loves her walks and walks very easily on the leash. Rosabella seems to ignore other dogs and people on walks. She loves food, especially chicken, steak or any protein! She does like to beg at times but won’t counter surf or counter sniff and will take food gently and easily from your hands.
She is house trained and even knows how to use the dog door, although she prefers to do her business on her two short daily walks. She does well in cars and sleeps on a dog bed and does well at night. Currently, she doesn’t know commands and only will bark when expected. Training should only be needed for learning basic commands.
Rosabella likes to be outside – but only if her human is out there as well. She does well when left alone but she doesn’t like it and just waits for her human to come home.
My Ideal Home
For her forever home, she would like a home that has her human there for most of the day. She needs a non-active home and would do best with a fairly mellow family. Rosabella is not a dog who you can take out hiking, on adventures, etc. She prefers to spend her days with her humans, lying around and relaxing.
