About Me
Lovingly Sponsored by:
Lottee is a gentle, almost 3 year old girl that was an owner surrender. At a young age, she was well loved and cared for but due to the family dynamics she was being neglected & her owners knew they weren’t being fair to her. In foster care, she’s receiving oodles of new found love & attention, and she has grown to be quite the Foster Mom’s shadow. She is a true Velcro girl with extra stickum.
She is smart, eager to please and always has a smile on her face including when she sleeps. She loves her people and tennis balls more than anything. She follows her foster Mom from room to room (including the bathroom) and craves to be touched, laying her head on your lap, sits in front of you so you can pet her or hold her paw. She can be a bit pushy when she wants attention, which is all the time. She loves to cuddle next or on you in bed or on the couch and constantly seeks “touch” attention, by pawing or nudging you.
She doesn’t need an invite to join you on your bed but will only get on the couch if invited. She has good house manners & is completely housebroken. Although Lottee enjoys being outdoors, she will NOT want to be outside in the yard by herself. She will wait by the door when she needs to go out to do her business but wants her people to come with her.
Lottee likes to meet other dogs but only tolerates them & doesn’t engage in playtime. She prefers her people over canines. Lottee is very gentle and an old soul at heart. She is a low energy girl and a couch potato but enjoys a good game of ball and 2 nice walks a day. She loves to play fetch but won’t drop it unless you throw another ball for her to chase and sometimes will bring back 2 balls in her mouth. She also likes her squeaky toys.
She walks slowly by your side on the leash but will pull when passing other dogs so continued training is a must. She knows a few commands, sit, lay down, shake, no, load up (getting in the car) but can be stubborn if she isn’t in the mood to follow commands. She always comes when called no matter what she’s doing. She rides well in the car, laying in the back seat and will poke her nose between the front seats to let you know she is still there and then lay back down. Her foster mom has taken her on several small road trips and she has enjoyed the adventures.
Lottee is a constant counter surfer and enjoys treats, but she came into foster 10 pounds overweight so everything must be limited. Along with diet and exercise, she has lost some weight in foster care. Exercise is a must to maintain her weight loss by taking walks and a few games of ball in the yard will help. She has been left alone for a few hours at a time with the 2 resident male Goldens and has done well but when she doesn’t get enough attention, she will chew up toys, and other things laying around. Lottee has not been crated, nor do we want her to be.
She has been living with a dog savvy cat and doesn’t chase it but likes to nap with him and give him kisses. She likes to play with the foster’s grandchildren (ages 8-16 and who are dog savvy) She is gentle with them and likes their attention. She has shown no aggression nor guarding tendencies, only love and gentleness
My Ideal Home
The perfect family is one that is home most of the time and has the time and patience to give her constant love she requires and let her be the center of attention regardless of what is going on. Lottee does get along with other dogs, although she is indifferent to them. So she would probably do best as an only dog to be able to absorb all the love & attention she craves. She just wants to be loved, and loved some more.
